Presents: Legal Nurse Consulting Course

The course will then meet one Friday per month for 9 sessions total followed by an individually scheduled practicum experience.

Target Audience: All registered nurses with an interest in legal nurse consultanting.

Topics for the ten modules include:
1 - Introduction to Legal Nurse Consulting
2 - Litigation and Trial Preparation
3 - Medical Malpractice
4 - Personal Injury/Products Liability
5 - Litigation – Trial and Appeals
6 - Risk Management
7 - Life Care Planning/Elder Law
8 - Administrative Law
9 - Conflict Resolution/Forensic Nursing
10 - Practicum: Synthesis of LNC Content/Practical Application

LSUHSC School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

The school is also an approved provider through LSBN (Provider #6). Certificates will be distributed upon the completion of the program each day. Participants must be present for at least 90% of the program in order to receive contact hours.
Additional contact hours can be earned by completion of self-study learning activities assigned during the course.

Fee: $3,750
Fee includes contact hours, and the textbook, Legal Ethical and Political Issues in Nursing by Tonia Aiken. An additional text, Legal Nurse Consulting: Principles and Practice (2nd ed.) will also be required.
